About the Project

John Holland Seymour Whyte Joint Venture (JHSWJV) have been successfully awarded the contract for the design and construction of Sydney Gateway Stage 1 and Stage 3.  The project includes 5 kilometres of new road, 16 bridges and close to 3 kilometres of active transport links. 

Benefits of the project include increasing road capacity at Sydney airport, both domestic and international airports.  As well as assisting traffic links to Port Botany and St Peter’s interchange.  JHSWJV will support more than 4,000 jobs over the life of the project.  
Stage 1: International Terminal and Qantas Drive connection – a new high-capacity road connection, linking the Sydney Motorway network at St Peter’s interchange with Sydney Airports International Terminal and Qantas Drive.

Stage 3: Domestic Terminal access – an arterial road connection and flyover to Sydney Airport’s Domestic Terminals. This Stage includes improvements to existing roads, to relieve congestion and improve connectivity to Sydney Airport Domestic Terminals and towards Port Botany. 

About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to play a key role in supporting the implementation and monitoring of the quality objectives, requirements, risks and other issues that may impact successful project delivery. Day to day tasks and activities will include but not be limited to;

Key Responsibilities include:

•    Provide support to the project team in the implementation of the project quality management system and development of work process documentation;
•    Implement, monitor and improve the construction quality and verification processes in accordance with the deed and the Quality Plan;
•    Attend site frequently, with the Site and Project Engineer to view works, observe testing and provide assistance with testing, recording and verification of site quality requirements;
•    Participate in the preparation and review work area plans (WAPs), work packs (WP’s) and work process documentation (including work procedures, ITPs and checklists);
•    Monitor and review subcontractors' quality deliverables and ensure they fulfil their quality obligations;
•    Monitor the establishment of work lots and coordinate inspection of works and products with the construction team;
•    Attend Hold and Witness point inspections and authorise release (where nominated authority);
•    Prepare audit reports summarising production and quality issues together with corrective actions;
•    Identify, report and investigate the cause of non-conforming work;
•    Review compliance records and close out work lots. 

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

•    Degree in Engineering 
•    A minimum of 3 years working in a similar role within the Construction industry.
