Job description
John Holland has been appointed to deliver the Inland Rail Illabo to Stockinbingal project. The Illabo to Stockinbingal project is about 39km of new rail corridor located within the local government areas of Junee and Cootamundra-Gundagai. This new section of rail corridor will provide a direct route from east of Illabo, tracking north to Stockinbingal and connecting into the existing Forbes rail line.
We currently have a Senior Contracts Administrator position available on our I2S Project. We are looking for someone who possesses a strong commercial acumen and has project based experience.
This role will be a Monday-Friday Sydney-based role until construction commences in August. The role will then be a 2:1 Roster based on site in Stockinbingal.
Key responsibilities
Procurement: provide leadership and support in the procurement process, particularly in respect of ensuring packages are procured in compliance with John Holland’s governance at all stages.
Subcontract review and negotiation: lead the review and negotiation of contract terms and conditions to ensure alignment with project requirements, legal standards and John Holland’s governance.
Subcontract management: effectively manage subcontracts through all phases, including scope preparation, procurement, cost forecasting, subcontractor management, claims/ variations processing, completion and close-out.
Financial reporting: provide leadership and guidance with the monthly cost reporting process, including cost tracking, and ensuring cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and costs codes (including those allocated to direct reports) are accurately maintained and cost issues are appropriately escalated upon identification.
Risk and opportunity management: conduct risk and opportunity reviews using R&O templates and John Holland processes, offering potential risk management solutions.
Head contract management: have experience in head contract management, be able to understand and administer the head contract as required by the project. This may include preparation of variation, claims or letters.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
- It is desirable to have a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a Senior Contracts Administrator role within the Construction or Engineering industry.
- Previous experience in procurement, subcontract management and have satisfactory knowledge of standard contract terms and conditions.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in relevant software packages such as Microsoft Suite (including Excel) and exposure to a contract management system (CRM)
- Experience on complex Rail/Infrastructure projects
- Be open to working a 2:1 roster (2 weeks on / 1 week off) or willing to relocate yourself within an hour’s commute of Cootamundra/Stockinbingal.
