The More Trains, More Services program will simplify and modernise the rail network creating high capacity, turn up and go services for many customers. It means customers can expect more frequent train services, with less wait times, less crowding on a simpler and more reliable network.

John Holland is seeking a Senior Planner to join the MTMS team based in at Chullora.

As Senior Planner you will establish and manage the process of planning, creating details programmes, and monitoring performance to deliver the best quality projects on time and budget in accordance with John Holland (Principle) procedures over the full project lifecycle.

Responsibilities of this role;

  • Develop and implement planning strategies and audits / reviews for DC feeders & OHW Upgrades.
  • Incorporate TfNSW systems and processes into the plan.
  • Ensure monitoring and reporting of Project Controls processes are successfully set-up and implemented on projects
  • Interface with project team, client, stakeholders, vendors and subcontractors for management of the planning function in accordance with established procedures
  • Implement project monitoring systems, particularly focussing on time, cost, resources, and quality (project controls and earned value). Ensure that planning & controls reports generated across project provide maximum cost and time forecasting 
  • Proactively contribute to the planning and controls culture across the project based on best practice and with a focus on risk management, cost control and SQE

To be successful in this key role, you must have;

  • Tertiary degree, preferably in one of the following disciplines - Engineering, Construction, Building or Project Management or equivalent experience
  • 6-8 years experience in Engineering, Construction, Planning and Project Controls
  • Use of planning software & tools such as Primavera Project Planning, Time Chainage Charts, Earned value and Cash Flow Analysis
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
