About the Project

John Holland Seymour Whyte Joint Venture (JHSWJV) have been successfully awarded the contract for the design and construction of Sydney Gateway Stage 1 and Stage 3.  The project includes 5 kilometres of new road, 16 bridges and close to 3 kilometres of active transport links. 

Benefits of the project include increasing road capacity at Sydney airport, both domestic and international airports.  As well as assisting traffic links to Port Botany and St Peter’s interchange.  JHSWJV will support more than 4,000 jobs over the life of the project.  

Stage 1: International Terminal and Qantas Drive connection – a new high-capacity road connection, linking the Sydney Motorway network at St Peter’s interchange with Sydney Airports International Terminal and Qantas Drive.

Stage 3: Domestic Terminal access – an arterial road connection and flyover to Sydney Airport’s Domestic Terminals. This Stage includes improvements to existing roads, to relieve congestion and improve connectivity to Sydney Airport Domestic Terminals and towards Port Botany. 

About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Surveyor to play a key role in execution of this iconic Sydney project. Reporting into the Survey Manager, the role of Senior Surveyor will be responsible to manage and coordinate survey activities to provide appropriate survey services to construction, planning, quantification of on-site construction materials for planning and costing purposes.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee survey activities on the designated project area by providing appropriate survey services to all members of the site construction team;
  • Carry out and maintain accurate survey of constructed works to provide work as executed information and project conformance records;
  • Provide timely and accurate survey information in a manner best suited to enable construction;
  • Support the site teams to undertake accurate planning and cost analysis on the project;
  • Support the day-to-day design work as required by the project team;
  • Ensure that all the QA documents are kept to date;
  • Carry out all survey on the project in accordance with Company and site-specific safety and environmental requirements;
  • Work with construction team on community and environmental issues;
  • Assist with the learning and development of survey team members to ensure the project retains and develops the right people to support project performance.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Qualification in Engineering, Spatial Science or Survey
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience on large infrastructure projects within the construction industry working within a similar position.
