Job Description

We are currently looking for a Site Engineer (Civil/Structures) to join the More Trains, More Services (Next Rail) team. 


The More Trains, More Services program will simplify and modernise the rail network creating high capacity, turn up and go services for many customers. It means customers can expect more frequent train services, with less wait times, less crowding on a simpler and more reliable network.


As Site Engineer you will provide onsite engineering services and technical support to ensure short term planning and programming of works is completed in conjunction with the site supervision staff.

 

- The role will incorporate a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Coordinating day to day activities and acting as a point of escalation for critical and non-critical events
- Managing subcontractor packages of works including on site coordination between work fronts and different disciplines
- Coordinate material delivery, tracking and reporting
- Undertaking quality inspections and review of works including ITC and ITP completion
- Coordinating survey set out and conformance for all works
- Undertaking safety review of site works
- Coordinating regular quality inspections with the client
- Managing the verification of conformance for works under control
- Tracking of daily progress and productivity and reporting
- Daily cost tracking and reporting
- Supporting the Project Manager and team to deliver contract scope on time and budget.
- Provide input to program for both completed activities and look ahead
- Actively liaising with subcontractors and suppliers
- Analyse and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting
- Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance to achieve outcomes.
 


To be successful in this key role, a requirement of the role is
- A level of flexibility and the ability to work weekends, public holidays and nightshifts – as some work is completed in rail closures
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, Construction Management or equivalent
- A variety of experience across civil, structures and building
- Minimum 3 years’ engineering experience
- Construction management and specific technical skills base relevant to program of work and discipline area
- Skill in use of document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance and procedures
