About the role:

As a member of the Precontracts Team this role successfully leads Water Sector development and pursuit activities by developing and maintaining effective customer and stakeholder relationships. It will establish effective Tender planning, management strategies and processes, and leading Tender teams to ensure that the likelihood of winning and successfully delivering an individual prospect is maximised.  

What you will do:

  • In consultation with the Precontracts and General Manager (Water), plan, manage and deliver water tenders, such that the likelihood of winning and successfully delivering an individual prospect is maximised.
  • Ensure Tender stakeholders are actively engaged throughout; partner with and coordinate the input of SMEs, designers, delivery partners, vendors and sub-contractors.
  • Align strategy and execution plans with John Holland’s Infrastructure Business and Water strategic objectives.
  • Proactively plan, manage and deliver effective Joint Venture and John Holland Tender Reviews in accordance with Approval requirements.  
  • Monitor and report on progress against the Tender Budget and Tender Plan, anticipating risks to ensure expectations are met.
  • Ensure strong approach to the Commercial Risk Assessment, development and alignment of recommended contractual positions across all elements of the Tender proposal (estimate, program and scope). This will include driving the CRA Approval. 
  • Lead the post Tender submission clarification process by coordinating the actioning of comments and managing response timelines and relevant approvals.
  • Support the Precontracts and General Manager (Water) to develop and actively manage client relationships

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Sciences, Project Management or Construction Management
  • Focused and strategic approach to all short- and long-term deliverables
  • Strong ability to communicate with, and provide confidence to Senior Executive Leaders
  • Contractual, legal, commercial and legislative compliance and regulatory frameworks, systems and key risks
  • Strong organisational and internal / external stakeholder management skills
