Title:  Business Process Analyst

About the Role

We're establishing a new capability within the Chief Operations Office to drive strategic business initiatives from concept through to operational implementation. Sitting at the intersection of construction delivery, operational performance and technology, this role will work closely with operational stakeholders, project teams and IT to analyse business processes, identify improvement opportunities and help shape solutions that deliver tangible business outcomes.

As the Business Process Analyst, you'll play a critical role in understanding how work is performed across our projects and business. This is a unique opportunity to build something new within a team focused on improving how John Holland leverages technology, process improvement and operational excellence to drive meaningful and lasting change. Working closely with the Manager, Operational Projects and Business Solution Implementation Lead, you'll help translate operational challenges into clear requirements, future-state processes and practical recommendations that drive consistency, efficiency and operational performance across John Holland.

The location of this role is flexible and can be based in either our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne offices.

What you will do

• Lead business analysis activities for operational initiatives, translating business needs into functional and non-functional requirements
• Partner with operational stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather, analyse and validate business requirements
• Facilitate workshops to document current and future state processes and identify opportunities for process uplift and standardisation
• Develop clear process maps, workflows and business documentation to support operational improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with project teams, technology teams and business stakeholders to support solution design and implementation activities
• Provide recommendations that improve business processes, support system investment decisions and drive operational efficiency

What we are looking for

• Experience delivering business process improvement initiatives within construction, engineering or infrastructure environments
• Strong understanding of construction project delivery, operational processes and technology-enabled business improvement within a Tier 1 contractor environment
• Demonstrated experience gathering, documenting and translating business requirements into practical recommendations and outcomes
• Experience facilitating workshops, process mapping and developing current and future state business processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex business challenges and identify opportunities for operational improvement
• Experience using digital technology solutions to support process improvement, standardisation and operational outcomes within complex project environments
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Business, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
