About the Project
John Holland has been named as the preferred contractor to deliver the North-East Link, Hoddle St to Bourke Road package of works. The Momentum Alliance is made up of John Holland, Seymour Whyte and design
partners Mott MacDonald and Jacobs Group, in partnership with MRPV.
The scope of works includes upgrading six kilometres of the Freeway with new traffic lanes, bridge upgrades and urban noise walls, a dedicated busway (fully segregated from mainline traffic), and a new bridge
over the Yarra River.
The NEL Project involves the design and construction of the upgrade of the Eastern Freeway from Hoddle Street in the west to Burke Road in the east, including:
6km of brownfield freeway widening to accommodate additional traffic lanes in each direction
3km dedicated busway separated from mainline traffic
Significant structures including 600m of bridges, including a 180m architectural steel shared use path bridge of the Yarra River
Freeway-wide scope including ITS, retaining walls, stormwater drainage, noise walls, lighting and signage
Site location to be around Chandler Highway / Eastern Freeway interchange.
What you will do;
Promote, encourage and assist senior management and project teams in implementing effective commercial (contractual and financial) practices.
Updating the procurement register for Design team and change/commercial register.
Support and lead CSA negotiations, comments and responses.
Resolution of commercial issues with DNOPs (i.e budget reallocation and transfers).
Filling out recommendation for award forms and purchase order forms.
Interfacing with Felix (procurement) and Viewpoint (invoicing).
Interfacing with Finance including receiving, reviewing and processing invoices.
Commercial reviews – DNOP and other consultant cost tracking & health checks.
Extracting the design budget out of CATs, reviewing and adjusting cost codes appropriately to match consultants and budgets.
Management of commercial issues, variations and letters.
Management & tracking of temp works design and proof engineer costs against cost codes.
Design Management Team – Histogram and Management of Resources to Budget.
What we are looking for;
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree or equivalent in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Business or other associated disciplines
Post graduate qualifications e.g. graduate certificate, graduate diploma in Commerce, Accounting, Business, Construction, Property, Quantity Surveying, Law or other associated disciplines
Experience
Demonstrated Tier 1 experience in commercial and contract administration gained on construction, engineering or associated projects with significant experience leading commercial function in an infrastructure project.
Advanced skills in procedures for project contract administration, general business administration and project management
Reporting and compliance with respect to commercial performance and legislation/code to prevent potential business exposure
Understand scope of works for the project and regions and business units and each subcontracted section of works including the ability to interpret drawings and specifications
Skill in quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and development of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects
