Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Advisor
North Western Program Alliance consists of four partners, working as ‘one team’ located in the Alliance’s head and project offices. NWPA has a proven track record with the completion of four level crossing removal projects, a Premium station rebuild and 3 projects currently in delivery.
We are currently looking for a talented and driven Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Advisor to join our team on one of our projects based in metropolitan Melbourne. This is an opportunity to take on a varied role where you will be working as part of a dynamic team responsible for developing and implementing the communications and stakeholder engagement program.
Responsibilities of the role include;
- Identify stakeholder, community and trader issues and develop strategies to minimise impacts.
- Work with the team to plan and manage contact with external stakeholders, the community and local traders.
- Work collaboratively with the project construction team to ensure activities are undertaken strategically, minimising impact and disruption to stakeholders and the community.
- Arrange site visits and ensure all visitors to the project have appropriate PPE and undergo relevant site inductions.
- Write a range of communication materials, including notifications, newsletters, advertising, social media posts and formal correspondence as well as co-ordinate residential doorknocks.
- Manage responses to all project related communications matters via phone, email, website, and social media.
- Develop a range of project specific forums for stakeholders and the community including community forums, pop up information sessions etc.
- Communicate community and stakeholder awareness and risk minimisation programs across the Project through inductions and toolbox presentations.
- Maintain registers and ensure community and stakeholder activities are recorded appropriately.
- Assist in the identification, development and management of promotional opportunities for the project.
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you demonstrate the following;
- Tertiary Degree (Bachelor level) or certificate or relevant experience (disciplines relevant to function area, e.g. public relations, journalism, stakeholder management, marketing).
- 3-5 years’ experience in a communications and stakeholder relations role.
- Relevant experience gained within the major infrastructure space or similar industry is highly desirable.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate with all levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
