We are looking for a Competencies and Compliance Coordinator to join us. 

About the Role;

 

A pivotal role for NWPA, the Competencies and Compliance Coordinator supports the North Western Program Alliance's onboarding framework for all persons prior to working on any project site.  

 

The role will act as the main point of contact for all Rail Operator competency and contractor onboarding queries within North Western Program Alliance (NWPA). This role also conducts compliance monitoring and reporting, performance measures gathering, and the development of fit-for-purpose processes and systems as required. The Rail Industry Worker (RIW) system is the current competency management platform in use at NWPA.  

Responsibilities of the role include;

 

•    Responsible for operating and maintaining the Competencies framework as a whole for the Alliance.
•    Advise on measures to ensure contractor onboarding processes are in place & fit-for-purpose.
•    Complete routine checks on the status of competency (RIW) compliance for Alliance staff & contractors.
•    Work with other Non-Owner Participants (NOPs) on all RIW and induction matters.
•    Engage with stakeholders to resolve queries relating to RIW and assist with troubleshooting.
•    Work with HS Administrators and Safety Trainees to report data in Power BI on a regular basis.
•    Work with the NWPA People team on training and induction matters.
•    Complete regular site visits and liaise with project personnel on RIW requirements to ensure spot check site audits are undertaken and discussed with site supervision.
•    Generate performance information for lead and lag metrics.
•    Prepare a range of regular reports and updates. 
•    Undertake quality review of site inspection reports, providing identified feedback to Alliance Health & Safety Manager.
•    Maintain an in-depth knowledge of RIW information and communicate any potential changes to RIW requirements in a timely manner.
•    Examine system processes to identify opportunities for innovation and enhancement.
•    Develop and maintain strong working relationships with project and employer stakeholders.
•    Support and partner with project-specific staff during times of peak resource demand (such as occupations).
•    Lead the development of competency system improvement for the Alliance.
•    Liaise with other project H&S stakeholders to share learnings and improvement opportunities relating to RIW.
•    Support project staff in subcontractor management activities. 
•    Consult with stakeholders to identify opportunities for efficiencies and streamlining the RIW and induction processes.
•    Maintain an excellent working knowledge of John Holland Health & Safety documentation.
•    Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems and procedures.

To be successful in this key role, you will have;

 

•    Demonstrated administration experience preferably in the construction or rail industry
•    Demonstrated experience with data management and process-driven activities, with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency 
•    Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
•    Basic knowledge and understanding of accounts, data and administrative management practices
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills 
•    Enjoy working in a team environment and building strong interpersonal relationships, while supporting multiple sites/teams
•    Work well under pressure and excellent organisational and time management skills
•    Ability to travel to multiple sites across metro Melbourne
•    You need to be able to meet any requirements which are necessary to safely perform your role
