About the Role / Are you up for the challenge?
As a Completions Coordinator - Assets, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery and acceptance of asset data submissions for key stakeholders, including Authorised Rail Operators (AROs), road authorities, municipal councils, and utility providers.
This position focuses on the development, submission, and management of asset data registers in line with project milestones, operational readiness requirements, and asset owner/maintainer specifications.
Working closely with multiple project teams, including Design, Digital Engineering, and Survey Teams, you will streamline asset data processes, implement innovations, and ensure compliance with required standards. This role is crucial for B2A to help deliver a seamless transition of assets and support project completions within specified timeframes.
Project Description
Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along approximately 305 kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is staged in two tranches. Tranche 1 includes enhancement works across four sites and corridor wide works.
Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla.
Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;
Overall responsibility for the role on this high-profile major project includes:
- Development, submission and management of asset data change requests for all relevant Project stakeholders, including Authorised Rail Operators (ARO), Road Authorities, Municipal Councils and utility providers in accordance with the asset owner/maintainer specifications and submission timeframes.
- Develop forecast of Asset data submissions to cover entirety of project scope, ensuring timeframes for acceptance are in-line with Project Practical Completion milestones and Completion Report submissions.Track progress and implement measures to ensure deliverables align with Completions Report submission forecasts and Operational Readiness submission timeframes.
- Scope out and assist with development of PowerBI and other required progress reports for Asset data submissions.
- Attend ARO (ARTC and V/Line) Operational Readiness meetings to report on progress of Asset data submissions.
- Coordinate site inspections to take asset imagery to supplement asset registers both outside of the rail corridor and under the supervision of track force protection whilst within the rail corridor.
- Review of design drawings, construction programs and asset allocation plans to determine new, modified or deleted assets required for each stakeholder
- Coordinate the formal submissions of Asset data registers along with relevant stakeholder reviews and comment closure requirements to support Asset data formal acceptance.
- Knowledge and use of Digital Engineering tools (e.g. GIS, BlueBeam) and geospatial data requirements as part of the asset register development process.
- Determine requirements for survey and liaise with Survey team to facilitate required as-built survey pick-ups for capture in Asset data submissions
- Liaise with Design, Digital Engineering and Survey Teams to implement innovations to both up and down-stream processes, automate and find efficiencies with obtaining source data (from either the design or GIS model) and the feature survey model and applying them in the Ellipse development process.
- Produce Asset Engineering submission and approval procedure and workflow to detail the entirety of the development, submission, review and acceptance process for Asset Register submissions in accordance with the various asset owner and maintainer systems.
- Assist the Completions Manager and Completions teams members with other Completions processes as required.
To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;
Qualification:
Essential:
- Advanced Diploma in Engineering, Science, Building, Construction, Quality and/or Completions Management or Project Management
Typical:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, Building, Construction, Quality and/or Completions Management or Project Management
Experience
Essential:
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in a completion management role, Completions experience gained within the construction, transport or related industries
Typical:
- Experience in developing and managing project Completion management strategies
- Project management experience
- Risk Management practices (2-3 years)
- Audit Management practices (2-3 years)
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff (verbal and written)
- Ability to follow occupational health, safety, quality and environmental procedures in the rail industry
