About The Project:

The JV partnership between John Holland and design partner KBR delivers innovative and high-quality assets and upgrades with Melbourne Water to ensure communities across Melbourne continue to enjoy high-quality water supply and seamless sewage removal and treatment.

 

The JHG-KBR JV has successfully delivered a wide range of critical infrastructure projects for the region, including water and sewer pipeline renewals, treatment plant upgrades, civil and road works, and reservoir improvements.

 

We are now looking for an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Construction Manager to join our Melbourne Water Framework. Based in Canterbury, VIC, this role will oversee the delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Victoria, providing both consistency and efficiency across multiple projects.

Your Role:

In this role, you will oversee the delivery of major water and wastewater treatment infrastructure projects, from tender through to commissioning and handover. You will provide technical input and leadership while ensuring consistency and efficiency is delivered across separated assigned project teams within framework.

 

Responsibilities include;

  • Support live project teams with delivery tasks, including:
    • Project setup and establishment.
    • Operational project management, including HSEQ, Sustainability, integration support.
    • Forecasting and client reporting.
    • Commissioning and process proving support.
    • Client interface and integration of assets into the wider operational network.
    • Procurement and subcontract evaluation support.
  • Support tender processes by contributing to project proposals and establishing delivery criteria.
  • Assist with the M&E integration of future and past works to align with client scopes.

About You:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, control systems, or commissioning roles.
  • Experience in water and wastewater treatment plant systems and pumping stations.
  • Understanding of project scopes, including:
  • Proven capability in delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including upgrades and construction within live environments.
  • Experience providing technical and constructability support during concept, functional, and detailed design stages.
  • Leadership ability to mentor direct reports, including Project Engineers, Senior Project Engineers and Construction Managers.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, including planning and reporting on progress, cost, and risk allocation, risk mitigation & management.
  • A strong personal commitment to health and safety.
  • Willingness to travel to Melbourne Water assets across Victoria to support project teams and clients.
