About the Role

John Holland is seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join the North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) team based in Macleod VIC 3085 (Ruthven Street)

In this role, you will support the commercial management of subcontract packages from tender through to completion and close-out, ensuring project financial and operational objectives are achieved while minimising contractual risks and dispute

North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) consists of four Alliance partners – John Holland, KBR, MTM, V/Line and the client (LXRP), working together as one team to achieve shared goals. Since 2017, NWPA has had a proven track record with the successful delivery of eight level crossing removal projects (17 LX) and several premium stations, with three projects currently in delivery and two in development phase.

Role responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue tender packages, including reviewing scopes of work and managing subcontractor RFQs.
  • Manage the end-to-end subcontract process, including procurement, contract negotiations and execution, progress claims, payments, variations, extensions of time, and maintaining subcontract registers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Assess commercial and contractual risks involved in delivery and implementation of subcontracts and identify and recommend controls to project management teams for implementation.
  • Monitor subcontract compliance and prepare reports on subcontract commercial performance.
  • Maintain commercial and subcontract systems, including Project Cost Reporting (PCR), Asset Registers, Commercial Pack databases, and Contract Sum systems from establishment through to close-out.
  • Provide support to Accounts Payable and Site Administration teams on subcontract rates, payments, and contract terms. 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in Contracts Administration, Commercial Administration, Quantity Surveying, or a similar commercial role within the construction, infrastructure, or engineering industry.
  • Strong understanding of contractual, commercial, and legislative requirements within project environments.
  • Good understanding of document control and record management procedures.
