About the Project

The Linewide Alliance, comprising John Holland, Alstom, RATP Dev, KBR and WSP, are excited to be delivering the transformative Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East Linewide package.

When SRL opens, the new rail services for passengers will also be delivered by, a venture between RATP Dev and John Holland to operate and maintain the franchise for 15 years from 2035, to be known as TransitLinx.

The Alliance will deliver a world-class, service-proven driverless metro system that sets new benchmarks for comfort, safety, and reliability for Melbourne.

SRL is a transport and urban planning project that will deliver world-class public transport, reduce travel times, and support the delivery of more homes and housing.

About the Role

We are seeking a Design Review Lead to assist senior members of the Engineering team in managing the design delivery process by coordinating the review of Linewide Alliance design deliverables across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.

You will lead active communication with stakeholders ensuring visibility of review program, timeframes, production of deliverables and vetting and management of comment closeout processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the distribution and review of design to ensure achievement of project objectives and KPIs.
  • Monitor design documentation progress against the program and elevate key review program to senior management
  • Manage the internal and external design review processes, including production of key metrics and lookaheads for stakeholders
  • Act as a first point of contact for external and internal reviewers for process related issues
  • Work in conjunction with the Design Manager and Engineering Managers in the development of design review and workshop scheduling
  • Understand design review reporting, procedures, guidelines and processes
  • Coordinate the interaction of project members in the design review process, including reviews of deliverables from other works packages 
  • Ensure reviews are completed by relevant members of the Construction Team and comments are appropriately responded by the Design Team
  • Assist Engineering Managers to coordinate timely closure of stakeholder comments to enable package submission
  • Vet external review comments for compliance with Linewide Alliance Design Review Guidelines
  • Coordinate stakeholder participation in design review related workshops and comment close out discussions
  • Assist with client and stakeholder expectations and communicate effectively with the project team
  • Work with Design Package Owners to address stakeholder comments and concerns and deliver required technical outcomes to meet required program.
  • Maintain Design Package Distribution Matrix for communication with Document Control and external stakeholders

About You

To be successful in this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, Project Management, or equivalent.   

You will have experience with technical delivery of design and engineering solutions for tenders and projects, including planning and budget management, with demonstrated behaviour in reducing costs.

Your strong communication skills, collaborative stakeholder approach, and sound understanding of project structures, standards and accountabilities will see you succeed in the role.
