We have a unique opportunity for a Digital Engineering Manager to join our national Digital Engineering team. This position is based in Melbourne.
This key role is responsible for leading and coordinating Digital Engineering (DE) Management activities within nominated project/s. You will provide specialist Digital Engineering solutions to both design and delivery phase of the project as well as developing technical capabilities and expertise of project staff.
About the Role
- Establish, implement, and continuously improve Digital Engineering workflows and processes for the project.
- Act as an authority for tender and project related Digital Engineering matters and issues on the project.
- Maintain and update the Digital Engineering Management Plan (DEMP) to reflect ongoing design development, subcontractor contributions, scope refinements, and construction-phase delivery requirements. Ensure continuous alignment with contractual obligations, with revisions undertaken as required.
- Assist with the development of Digital Engineering strategy, including the adoption of new technologies and the development of DE protocols, standards, and execution plans for various projects.
- Oversee the development and integration of models from various disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP) to create a cohesive and coordinated master model.
- Conduct regular audits to develop and ensure the accuracy and integrity of models, ensuring they meet John Holland DE Manual and project requirements/standards.
- Provide guidance and develop training programs for project team members on Digital Engineering tools and processes, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders, ensuring everyone is informed and the Digital Engineering process runs smoothly.
- Stay abreast of the latest BIM tool/system technologies and methodologies, leading the development and adoption of innovative solutions to enhance project delivery.
- Ensure proper information management and storage of model data, maintaining a single source of truth for all project information.
- Track and evaluate the performance of Digital Engineering processes and tools, developing improvements as necessary.
- Ensure all Digital Engineering activities comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop Digital Engineering deliverables that meet their expectations.
- Manage resources effectively, including software, hardware, and personnel, to support Digital Engineering activities.
- Maintain an active and visible industry presence in Digital Engineering at local, national, and international levels. Champion and promote JHG’s Digital Engineering capability through strategic industry engagement and participation.
About You
You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Built Environment or Architecture, along with substantial experience in the Engineering Consulting or Construction industry, including Digital Engineering Management roles on large multi-discipline projects.
You will bring experience managing and implementing Digital Engineering processes, along with working knowledge of ISO19650, Uniclass, OpenBIM and other relevant Digital Engineering standards, and experience using industry design, coordination and Digital Engineering tools such as Revit, Civil3D, Navisworks and ProjectWise or similar.
You will also have a sound understanding of design and construction management practices, processes and procedures, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to analyse data and provide recommendations to senior stakeholders.
