About the Role / Are you up for the challenge?


We are currently looking for a First Nations Senior Inclusion Advisor to join the team on the Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2 Project The ideal candidate is passionate about building cultural diversity, developing strong relationships with relevant community groups, and supporting our team around social inclusion outcomes. 
The role is primarily based out of our main office in Docklands. However, it also will involve travel to various construction sites to ensure that project deliverables are achieved. 


 

Project Description


Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities. 
The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along approximately 305 kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is staged in two tranches. Tranche 1 includes enhancement works across four sites and corridor wide works. 
Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla. 

Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;

 

  • Lead the implementation of the Project’s Social Delivery Plan (SDP), with the support of other project team members and John Holland’s corporate resources
  • Engage and manage relationships with our client, a range of businesses, stakeholders, industry partners, community-based organisations & education/training providers to progress our commitments in the SDP
  • Develop and manage relationships with local Aboriginal Community groups and Traditional Owner groups, including leading consultation and engagement where required 
  • Connect with John Holland’s Reconciliation, Action & Advisory Committee to align project activities with our Reconciliation Action Plan 
  • Organising and promoting events that celebrate days of significance i.e. NAIDOC Week, Cultural Diversity Week across our sites and workplaces
  • Collect and manage data, including engaging with our subcontractors and using reporting systems (training will be provided)
  • Support the procurement team by connecting potential suppliers with opportunities to tender for work on the project
  • Identify providers to deliver a range of workforce training, including Cultural Awareness Training 
  • Supporting Senior People, Social Inclusion & Capability Manager, People and Community and Stakeholder team as required

  • Reliability and ability to consistently follow-up on tasks
  • Some experience working with a range of community-based organisations
