About North Western Program Alliance
North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) consists of five Alliance partners – John Holland, KBR, MTM, V/Line and the client (VIDA Rail), working together as one team to achieve shared goals.
Since 2017, the Victorian Government has entrusted North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) and our Alliance partners to remove dangerous and congested level crossings, deliver new rail stations and infrastructure, and create more community open spaces.
Our Alliance currently has four projects in delivery and two in development phase, along with the successful delivery of ten level crossing removal projects (17LX) and several premium stations and a Tram Maintenance Facility.

We are looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team based at Sunshine on a full time permanent basis.
Role responsibilities
The Health & Safety Coordinator will lead the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of programs that promote a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel, while supporting the Project Leadership Team in shaping HSE strategies and delivering effective training initiatives.
- Provide HSE support, guidance, and coordination across site operations
- Deliver and administer safety education and compliance programs for employees, contractors, and visitors
- Coordinate accredited training for HSE representatives and first aid personnel
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and hazard identification activities
- Support the Project Leadership Team in developing and implementing HSE training initiatives
- Implement and maintain health, safety, and fire prevention procedures in line with company policies
- Ensure effective emergency preparedness, including plans, equipment, and trained personnel
- Coordinate incident investigations and maintain accurate HSE documentation
- Provide specialist HSE advice to ensure legal and contractual compliance
- Maintain HSE records and report on performance and trends
- Manage return-to-work coordination processes
What we are looking for
- Tertiary qualification in Quality, Safety, Environmental, Project Management, or related discipline
- Diploma in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent)
- Safety Lead Auditor qualification desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in construction safety management
- Proven ability to conduct and interpret audits and knowledge of risk assessment
- Experience in performance reporting, compliance monitoring, and defect management
- Proficiency in safety management systems, tools, and methodologies
