About the Project

 

Join the John Holland CYP Maintenance team on the transformative Melbourne Metro Tunnel Project part of our 24-year Tunnels and Stations maintenance contract. This pivotal infrastructure development will introduce a new subterranean rail passage and five state-of-the-art underground stations across Melbourne's bustling CBD. Aimed at alleviating congestion and bolstering the network's capacity, our project is set to enhance the urban transit landscape significantly.
The stations, to be located at State Library & Town Hall & Anzac, will seamlessly merge with the current rail system, facilitating direct access to major hubs including universities, hospitals, and commercial districts. 
This substantial contribution to Melbourne's public transport infrastructure is not just an upgrade—it's a leap towards a more connected and sustainable city, ready to accommodate its expanding populace. Your role in the CYP Maintenance team will be instrumental in upholding the long-term functionality and efficiency of this vital urban lifeline.

 

About the Role

 

As a Maintenance Engineering Manager with the Cross Yarra Partnership Maintenance team, you will support the Melbourne Metro Tunnel project from mobilisation to maintenance. During the Mobilisation period, your role is crucial in ensuring the seamless handover of assets from the construction teams to the maintainer by ensuring our asset management systems are ready for Day 1, ensuring asset information is complete and our teams are ready to commence maintenance on Day 1 of Operations. 
During the Maintenance phase, your role is crucial to delivering appropriate and efficient maintenance, developing and delivering on maintenance technology while ensuring safety and asset reliability is maintained. 

 

Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;

 

  • Lead asset acceptance on behalf of CYP Maintenance, including management of the defect process into the Maintenance phase.
  • Contribute to the development of our Maintenance/Asset Management System (MRI), ensuring that it supports maintainers in practice.
  • Ensure meticulous management of maintenance documentation, conducting comprehensive reviews and maintaining accurate records.
  • Capture and analyse RAMS data, enabling condition-based maintenance improvements into the future. 
  • Expertly handle engineering responsibilities within a maintenance context, guaranteeing fluid project handovers.
  • Monitoring asset maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

 

To be successful in this key role, we are looking for;

 

  • An individual with a tertiary qualification in engineering or a related field of asset management.
  • Significant experience with CMMS, ideally with a working knowledge of MRI, and the development of similar systems for maintenance purposes.
  • Experience in maintenance, engineering and asset management. 
  • Competence in data analysis, including risk assessment, performance evaluation, and condition monitoring.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the capacity to make informed decisions.
  • Outstanding communication skills for effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in the railway sector, with an understanding of Rail Safety National Law, will be highly valued.
  • A professional adept at navigating the risks associated with stringent deadlines, varied client requirements, and fluctuating project scopes.
  • A leader who can navigate the intricacies of complex stakeholders and operations within the railway industry.
