About you and the role

Drawing on your background in either government agencies, ministerial offices or management consulting, you will join our Customer and Corporate Affairs team in driving best practice customer and stakeholder engagement across John Holland, including new and existing projects. 

Supporting the transformation for how we engage with customers, you will be confident in influencing stakeholders at all levels, have laser focus to keep the agenda on track, expertise in change management and the ability to cut through the noise to maximise engagement.

People are at the heart of everything we do, and you will be tasked with establishing, influencing and maintaining critical relationships, ensuring buy-in, collaboration, support and endorsement both internally and externally.

You will be proficient in the art of organising, coordinating and facilitating the right people in the right place at the right time, and find creative ways to optimise outcomes and make things happen.  

The location of this role is flexible and can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney.

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide customer engagement policies, standards and practices 
  • Manage the development and delivery of customer research including annual customer survey and other customer research activities as required
  • Develop and coordinate the delivery of a calendar of strategic customer engagement activities and events including the design and the delivery internal events and the coordination of John Holland’s participation in industry and customer events.
  • Drive John Holland’s customer transformation program, supporting our business strategy and market-leading brand
  • Ensure stakeholder engagement with the program across the Executive and key senior leaders, including influencing and inspiring cultural and behavioural change
  • Ensure key customer program initiatives are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Work with pre-contracts and operations teams across all business units to improve the consistency of and strengthen our relationships with key Government clients.
  • Collaborate with pre-contracts and operations teams to identify and understand general and project-specific relationship issues and risks and find solutions.
  • Develop strategies to effectively engage Government customers and other stakeholders including, community and industry organisations to enhance John Holland’s reputation

To be successful in this key role, you must have;

  • Tertiary degree or relevant experience in communications, stakeholder engagement or related discipline
  • Experience in strategy development and government relations
  • Experience in delivery of complex infrastructure
