Are you up for the challenge?

In this key role, you will provide accurate, timely and efficient payroll services to John Holland Workforce (blue-collar) employees. Working as part of a national Payroll team you will have the support of subject matter experts and the opportunity to expand your skillset and develop your career. We operate a paperless process across multiple states, construction projects and agreements.

You will have the utmost respect for confidentiality, thrive under pressure and be a natural problem solver.

We offer a hybrid work environment with 3 days/week in the office, and you can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney.

What you will do;

  • End to end processing of blue-collar (workforce) payroll using Chris21, Kronos and Success Factors

  • Maintain all employee Masterfile records 

  • Processing of new starters, transfers, terminations, redundancies, and reclassifications, ensuring legislative and regulatory requirements are met

  • Calculation of redundancy estimates as required

  • Process backpays and overpayment as required

  • Process ad-hoc manual timesheets

  • Import Kronos files for payment

  • Process deductions and allowances

  • Register employees with external funds as required

  • Use MS Excel to perform data validation and reporting

  • Manage payroll inboxes and queries

What we are looking for;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of payroll legislation and processes, e.g. tax, superannuation, and terminations
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, high-volume payroll processing environment driven by strict deadlines
  • Experience in a similar payroll position, ideally within construction or related industries
