About The Project:
North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) consists of four Alliance partners – John Holland, KBR, MTM, V/Line and the client (LXRP), working together as one team to achieve shared goals.
Since 2017, NWPA has had a proven track record with the successful delivery of eight level crossing removal projects (13 LX) and several premium stations, with two projects currently in delivery (4 LX) and three in development phase.

Our NWPA team based in Sunshine are looking for an enthusiastic People Advisor to provide human resource management advice to the NWPA project, which will include guidance on people management activities such as recruitment, on-boarding, training & development, performance management, remuneration, cultural diversity, and other HR matters.
Your Role:
- Provide general assistance to the Human Resource function in the implementation of HR strategies
- Provide support to the HR Coordinator through guidance and advice in the performance of their duties.
- Build positive relationships through influence and negotiation with employees, managers, subcontractors, and external stakeholder groups across the business
- Prepare and conduct induction programs for new employees as required, supporting the HR Coordinator where required
- Assist in the implementation of training and development initiatives in the organisation
- Provide advice to employees and managers on the organisation’s performance management process and system
- Assist to obtain recommendations on salary benchmarking and remunerations packages
- Deliver presentations, facilitate meetings and engage with various work groups to achieve desired outcomes
- Provide counselling and support to managers and employees with regard to problems affecting work performance
- Promote the awareness of the EAP and assist employees in need of support
- Build and encourage cultural diversity
- Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems and procedures
About You:
- Post-secondary school training or TAFE certificate in HR, IR/ER, Education, Psychology or Business
- Degree or higher in Business, Human Resource Management, Legal, Finance or other associated disciplines
- 4-5 years’ experience in a Human Resource role
- Ability to solve problems and identify process improvement
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of national and state regulatory frameworks Knowledge of contractual and commercial awareness
- Knowledge of employment legislation, including government policy
- Experience in HR project work, leading an initiative or desired outcome
- Experience managing a subordinate, such as a HR administrator or HR coordinator
