About North Western Program Alliance

North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) consists of four Alliance partners – John Holland, KBR, MTM, V/Line and the client (LXRP), working together as one team to achieve shared goals.

 

Since 2017, NWPA has had a proven track record with the successful delivery of eight level crossing removal projects (17 LX) and several

premium stations, with three projects currently in delivery and two in development phase.

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join the Alliance located in Ruthven.

About the Role

The Project Engineer will coordinate and oversee on-site construction engineering activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of projects within approved budgets

 

 

  • Coordinate on-site engineering activities to ensure delivery aligns with designs, specifications, and standards
  • Support budget preparation and track project financial and performance outcomes
  • Monitor construction progress against schedules and report to Site/Project Manager
  • Interpret designs for execution and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with tender processes, including subcontractor engagement and procurement
  • Apply commercial judgement and knowledge of contracts and legislation in decision-making
  • Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and adherence to John Holland systems and procedures

About you

  • Relevant degree in Engineering, Construction, or related discipline; project management qualifications and Chartered status desirable
  • Significant post-graduate engineering experience, including at least 3 years in site-based roles on projects >$10M
  • Strong understanding of project management frameworks, design, planning, and key management plans (quality, safety, environmental)
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver, and review complex projects to time and budget, with sound pre-contracts knowledge
  • Advanced communication, stakeholder management, and technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Primavera P6
