About the Role / Are you up for the challenge?

 

As the Quality Advisor on the Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2 Project, you will be responsible to support the implementation and monitoring of the Projects quality objectives, requirements, risks and other issues that may adversely impact the surety of successful project delivery. You will be supporting to assist the Project team with implementation of the project’s inspection and test requirements for Civil, Structural Rail scope.
The role will be regionally based, requiring you to work closely with the project team across the eight different sites from Wandong to Benalla to ensure works are delivered in accordance with the project’s requirements. A critical part of the role will be working closely with other project stakeholders, such as engineers and design consultants, to ensure that deliverables are met and that the project progresses smoothly.

 

Project Description

 

Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities. 
The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along approximately 305 kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is staged in two tranches. Tranche 1 includes enhancement works across four sites and corridor wide works. 
Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla. 

 

Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;

 

Overall responsibility for the role on this high-profile major project includes:

  • Specific quality duties in discrete work areas 
  • Day-to-day coordination of quality-related processes, development and review of Inspection & Test plans, quality control plans, process control verification auditing, to ensure that the delivered product meet relevant specifications and standards
  • The inspection surveillance of off-site suppliers and subcontractors
  • Document quality issues and performance measures for management review and coordinate the close out of Quality related Construction Issues including coordination with consultations, proof engineers, Client and Stakeholders.
  • Assist the Quality Manager with the implementation of the Project’s Quality Management System in accordance with the Project Quality Management Plan.
  • Be an advocate and key leader in quality by assisting in communicating & distributing notifications including lessons learnt and quality events.
  • Work with project team to assist with getting approved materials, associated QA documents and QA lots closed out 
  • Prepare and coordinate audit reports summarising process, production and quality issues together with recommended corrective actions
  • Administer the relevant systems utilised for monitoring and documenting quality issues and actions
