Are you up for the challenge?


We are currently looking for a Safety Manager to join the team in Melbourne. Based at our Victorian office the role will see the successful candidate implement and control Safety Management requirements, strategies and initiatives across all project sites and report progress to the Project Director and Project leadership team


Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and administer education and compliance programs for employees, clients, contractors and visitors
  • Guide and support the Project Leadership Team to develop and implement a safety culture that aligns to the company vision, including adequate development and training in safety critical roles
  • Ensure the projects maintains robust risk management processes, capability, focus and discipline related to safety
  • Initiate and administer safety improvement, education and compliance programs for workplaces within the region
  • Align region and workplace Safety & Workers Compensation strategies with relevant JHG business plans and assist workplaces to implement them
  • Investigate all causes of events on site and recommend actions to prevent future occurrences
  • Provide specialist support to internal stakeholders including operational leaders, project employees, contractors, clients and visitors


To be successful in this key role, you must have;

  • Significant operational project experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Safety, Environmental, Project Management or other associated disciplines
  • Advanced Diploma Safety in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent * Safety Lead Auditor Qualification
  • Previous rail experience highly regarded.
