North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) consists of four Alliance partners – John Holland, KBR, MTM, V/Line and the client (LXRP), working together as one team to achieve shared goals. Since 2017, NWPA has had a proven track record with the successful delivery of eight level crossing removal projects (17 LX) and several premium stations, with three projects currently in delivery and two in development phase.

John Holland is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to join the North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) team based in Seaford.

In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end commercial management of major subcontracts and self-performed works. You will collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, as well as lead and support direct reports, to drive commercial performance and achieve successful project outcomes.

Role responsibilities

• Lead procurement planning, subcontract packaging, and sourcing strategies to drive project success.
• Manage subcontracts end-to-end, from scope development and procurement through to variations, claims, and close-out.
• Monitor costs, forecasts, and commercial performance, ensuring risks and issues are identified and managed proactively.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors while staying informed of market trends and opportunities.
• Assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks, supporting effective dispute resolution where required.
• Prepare commercial reporting and maintain contract management systems and controls.
• Lead and mentor commercial team members, providing guidance, support, and leadership to drive project and business outcomes.

About You

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in a Contracts Administrator, Quantity Surveyor, or similar commercial role within the construction or engineering industry.
• Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing commercial teams, including managing direct reports.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in subcontract management, cost control, forecasting, and contract administration.
• Demonstrated ability to manage commercial negotiations and mitigate contractual risk on complex projects.
