About the Role

In this key role you will plan, design and implement changes to our Azure and AWS infrastructure to improve functionality, automation, reliability, resiliency, performance, security, and efficiency to support core applications and services. This is an exciting transformational stage for the business which will see you working closely with our Cloud and Platform teams. As a senior member of the team you will and provide thought leadership and mentoring and pave the way into news ways of working. You will be a solutions-focussed problem solver at heart with a customer centric approach to how you deliver to the business.

Responsibilities of the role include;
  • Administration and management of a large and complex AD and Azure AD environment
  • Management of extensive O365 implementation and continued migration and adaption of O365 tools
  • Assisting in the development of best practice, supporting knowledge transfer, engaging in events and serving as the overall technology evangelist
  • Ensuring documentation for all configurations, standards & procedures and automate where possible
  • Providing on call support (level 3), via a managed rotation plan outside of business hours.
  • Knowledge transfer within business groups, ensuring successful adoption and usage of solutions
  • Ensuring all services adhere to Security, Governance & Risk policies and procedures
  • Plan, manage, support, and complete service migrations
  • Build and maintain relationships with Product Management and Product Engineering teams to develop a deeper understanding of solutions
To be successful in this key role, you must have;
  • Extensive experience with core Microsoft server products, including Active Directory (On prem and Azure AD), Exchange, IIS, Office 365 and SQL Server
  • 3+ years experience supporting AWS and Azure services at scale
  • Solid hands on infrastructure-as-code (IaC) development and deployment experience with ARM and/or Cloudformation
  • Design and automation mindset. Anything that can be automated, should be automated.
  • Scripting skills in either Powershell, Python or Bash
  • Passion for mentoring / coaching and training
  • Experience in CI/CD on platforms such as AWS Code Build/Deploy/Pipeline, Azure DevOps, Github or Octopus
  • Experience supporting Enterprise applications in large organisations
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritise essential work tasks
  • Available for on call support (level 3), via a managed rotation plan outside of business hours.
  • Skills in developing and managing stakeholder groups across the business and the ability to handle and resolve conflict
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or experience that has delivered you similar knowledge and skills
  • Ideally you will also have experience with Oracle database administration, utomation and orchestration with Ansible, Linux System Administration, ITIL Experience, VDI and Application streaming via Citrix or AWS Workspaces, Intune/SCCM and awareness of compliance and cloud security standards
