John Holland is part of the CCCI Group which is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC). CCCC is one of the largest listed companies in the international infrastructure and engineering sector.
We currently have an opportunity available for a Senior Internal Auditor, who will be reporting into the head of the Internal Audit Group. This role is primarily responsible for conducting complex internal audits, providing independent and objective assurance on internal controls, and identifying and implementing sustainable process improvement solutions within the John Holland Group. You will work collaboratively with customers, the audit team and other assurance functions within the organisation to deliver high quality audits.
This role is based out of our landmark offices on Flinders Street in Melbourne, and requires willingness to travel domestically or internationally as needed.
What you will do;
- Conducting high quality project and business audits from beginning to end, inline with deadlines
- Preparing concise and informative audit reports for senior management
- Identifying and documenting inherent risks and controls within business processes
- Applying better practices and business knowledge to critical thinking to identify root causes in weaknesses found and provide pragmatic recommendations to the business to deliver improvements
- Providing input in the development of internal audit strategy and annual audit program
- Monitor and follow up with the implementation of actions agreed with management
- Liaising with external auditors and consultants as appropriate
What we are looking for;
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline eg Accounting, Business, Commerce, Economics, Information Systems, Legal or Engineering
- CA/CPA/Project Management accreditation
- CIA, CISA or equivalent
- Internal audit experience within construction, heavy industry or engineering sectors
- First, second or third line of defence assurance experience in projects, IT, business cycles, commercial, operations and governance
- Proven experience in project or program assurance preferably in construction industry.
- Strong understanding of project governance, project management and risk management.
- Expertise in applying risk and control concepts
- Experience in complex and multiple stakeholder management
- Proven ability to communicate effectively to drive positive outcomes with key stakeholders
- Strong relationship building and influencing skills
- Proficient in data analytics and use of data analytical tools
- Ability to work autonomously as well as an excellent team player.
- Ability to multitask, self-time manage, prioritise workload and with a “can-do” attitude.
- Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Conversational or business level Mandarin (not essential but an added bonus)
- Willingness to travel domestically or internationally as required as the role covers all functions and locations of John Holland
