The Opportunity

North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) consists of five Alliance partners – John Holland, KBR, MTM, V/Line and the client (LXRP), working together as one team to achieve shared goals.

Since 2017, NWPA has had a proven track record with the successful delivery of eight level crossing removal projects (13 LX) and several premium stations, with two projects currently in delivery (4 LX) and three in development phase.

We're currently seeking a Senior Planner to be based at our Sunshine (Albion) project who will support the full project lifecycle, undertake the process of planning, creating detailed programmes, and monitoring performance to deliver the best quality projects on time and on budget in accordance with John Holland procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

• Implement planning strategies and audits / reviews for projects.
• Ensure project planning activities are conducted in accordance with NWPA / JH policies and procedures.
• Ensure monitoring and reporting of Planning processes are successfully set-up and implemented on projects.
• Highlight any issues that may impact the effective, efficient and professional planning resources and support to the project including implementing standard processes and reports.
• Interface with project team, alliance partners, clients, stakeholders, consultants, designers, vendors, subcontractors for management of the planning function in accordance with established procedures
• Proactively lead a planning and controls culture across the project based on best practice and with a focus on risk management, cost control and SQE.
• Support the implementation of project monitoring systems, particularly focussing on time, cost, resources & quality (project controls & earned value).  Ensure that planning & controls reports generated across the project provide maximum cost and time forecasting certainty for project. 
• Advise Project Managers in report interpretation, analysis of project performance, forward planning and development of corrective actions to maximise project delivery outcomes
• Develop integrated design, construction, occupations and completions programmes that reflect agreed methodologies and identify key activities, milestones and constraints. Document the programmes using the company’s procedures and in accordance with client’s particular requirements.
• Coordinate detailed reviews of the project program with delivery teams. Consolidate and compile project program reports including Schedule Risk Analysis.

Position Requirements

• Tertiary degree, preferably in one of the following disciplines - Engineering, Construction, Building, Sciences, Architecture or Project Management, or equivalent experience
• 8 years experience in construction, Engineering, Planning and Project Controls.
• Demonstrated application of the principles of planning
• Use of planning software & tools such as Primavera Project Planning, Time Chainage Charts, Program Forensic Analysis, Earned Value and Cash Flow Analysis
• Strong organisational and communication skills
