Job Description

We are currently seeking an experience Senior Planner to join our rail business. The role is primarily responsible for undertaking the process of planning, creating detailed programmes and monitoring performance over the full project lifecycle, to deliver the best quality project on time and on budget. You will also be responsible for providing onsite engineering services and technical support to ensure short term planning and programming works is completed in conjunction with the site supervision staff.

 


Responsibilities of the role include:
Implementing planning strategies and reviews
Ensuring project planning activities are conducted in accordance with internal policies and procedures
Ensuring monitoring and reporting of project controls processes are successfully set up and implemented
Proactively leading a planning and controls culture across projects based on best practice focussing on risk management, cost control and SQE
Early identification and communication of issues and opportunities to the project team
Coordinating information flow for the planning and controls functions
Compiling and collating reference and benchmarking data for future planning purposes
Undertaking the implementation of project monitoring systems focussing on time, cost, resources and quality
Supporting Project Managers in report interpretation, analysis of project performance, forward planning and development of corrective actions

 

 

To be successful in this key role, you must have:
2-3 years Site Engineering/Project Controls/Planning experience on major multi-discipline civil construction projects
Expertise in the use of planning software and tools including Primavera Project Planning, Earned Value and Cash Flow Analysis
Proven ability to communicate effectively to drive positive outcomes with key stakeholders
Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills
