About the Project

The Linewide Alliance, comprising John Holland, Alstom, RATP Dev, KBR and WSP, are excited to be delivering the transformative Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East Linewide package.

When SRL opens, the new rail services for passengers will also be delivered by, a venture between RATP Dev and John Holland to operate and maintain the franchise for 15 years from 2035, to be known as TransitLinx.

The Alliance will deliver a world-class, service-proven driverless metro system that sets new benchmarks for comfort, safety, and reliability for Melbourne.

SRL is a transport and urban planning project that will deliver world-class public transport, reduce travel times, and support the delivery of more homes and housing.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer – Utilities to join the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the relocation, protection, and installation of utilities (e.g., water, gas, electricity, telecoms) in line with project requirements
  • Collaborate with utility service providers, designers, and subcontractors to develop and execute utility plans
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Monitor project progress, manage schedules, and report on utility-related activities
  • Track, manage and report on costs including active participation in forecasting
  • Identify and resolve any utility-related issues or conflicts during construction
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards
  • Manage permits, approvals, and documentation related to utilities
  • Provide technical input and support to the project team
  • Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, as well as significant experience in utilities coordination or project engineering within the construction or infrastructure sector.

You will have:

  • Strong knowledge of utility services, including water, gas, electricity, and telecommunications
  • A proactive approach to safety and risk management
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and permits
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Your exceptional problem-solving, planning, and organisational ability, along with your excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, will see you succeed in the role.
