That’s our difference. Deep experience and capability with a genuine care about creating better lives for people along the way.

Be part of the team that’s up for the challenge of transforming lives.

About the role

We have a Senior Project Engineer position available on the Melbourne Water Capital Delivery Program and open to seeing candidates with a Civil or M&E background. This is a great opportunity to take on a lead role and diversify your skillset within the Water space.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage on-site engineering functions through subordinates, which may include Project Engineers, and/or Cost/Planning Engineers.
  • Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications.
  • Direct exposure to interfacing with client and managing a project from planning through to commissioning and handover.
  • Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.
  • Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
  • Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget. Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used and retain progress drawings.
  • Accurate forecasts of costs and revenue and utilise corrective action in line with the JV’s authority and reporting frameworks to maximise the profit margin.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
  • Previous experience working on infrastructure projects $100m+.
  • Project delivery and tender experience.
  • Ability to take ownership in a lead role.
  • Ability to work well with various stakeholders and build strong relationships.
  • Interest in competitive tendering of works and supporting the program development manager.

As part of the team, you can help us transform lives.
