About North Western Program Alliance

 

North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) consists of three Alliance Partners - John Holland, KBR, MTM, V/Line and the client (LXRP), working together as one team to achieve shared goals. 

 

Since 2017, NWPA had had a proven track record with the successful delivery of eight level crossing removals (17 LX) and several premium stations, with three projects currently in delivery and two in development phase.

We are looking for a Senior Sustainability Advisor to join us. 

 

Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do

 

As the NWPA Sustainability Lead, your main responsibilities will be to lead a high performing team of sustainability professionals from all Alliance partners, and drive a culture of contemporary thinking across the Project to help achieve the environmental, social, financial and governance goals of our customers and communities.

 

Position-specific tasks or responsibilities: 
•    Lead the Sustainability Contract Deliverables for the Project 
•    Interface with Client and other Alliance Leads to drive sustainability outcomes and innovations across the program of works, including chairing client meetings and presenting at knowledge sharing forums.
•    Collaborate, guide and positively challenge other Project teams to develop innovative sustainability solutions in Development, Delivery and Completions phase 
•    Drive NWPA’s approach to net zero in line with VIDA’s Decarbonisation Strategy 
•    Support a culture of contemporary thinking across the Project to help achieve the environmental, social, financial and governance goals of our customers and communities  
•    Track and report performance against sustainability targets and objectives for Contract and Completion Requirements 
•    Keep up to date with ISC, GBCA and new legislation in relation to sustainability 
•    Attend and drive sustainable outcomes during design and construction and other functional led meetings 
•    Establish methods to increase the awareness of sustainability issues across the project 
•    Perform all duties in accordance with LXRP Sustainability Management Plan, and NWPA Sustainability Management System (SMS), including objectives, targets, training, risk, opportunity, design, procurement, construction, completion, handover, communication, stakeholder management, monitoring, reporting, auditing, reviewing, continuous improvement and innovation. 
•    Where relevant, preparation of the Infrastructure Sustainability As Built submission in accordance with the Infrastructure Sustainability Rating Scheme Technical Manual Design and As Built, Version 1.2
•    Analyse the Design Non-Owner Participant (DNOP) and Construction Non-Owner Participant (CNOP) Management Systems in compliance with project sustainability requirements, and collaborate for  continuous improvement towards compliance

 

To be successful in this key role, we are looking for;

 

Qualifications:

 

•    Bachelor of Engineering, Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability or other associated disciplines 
•    Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional and Green Star Accredited Professional
•    Post graduate qualifications e.g. Masters in Engineering, or Graduate Certificate or Diploma in Environmental Management, Risk, Sustainability, Project Management or other associated disciplines.
•    ISO 9001 lead quality audits training.

 

Experience:


•    Demonstrated sustainability management experience on infrastructure or major projects in Australia.  
•    Experience in developing, implementing and reviewing integrated management systems. 
•    Understanding of sustainability principles, rating schemes and standards. 
•    Able to successfully coordinate the development and delivery of programs of work (incl. demonstrated project and change management skills). 
•    Proficient in developing and managing stakeholder groups across the business, geographic regions and external to the organisation. 
•    Able to facilitate training and focus group meetings/workshops on complex operational risks and legislative implications, and management standards.  
•    Proficient at measuring, analysing and communicating business performance. 
•    Understanding of risk management and its application in the construction context.  
•    Knowledge of tender requirements, project planning and delivery.
