John Holland is leading the way in Australia's infrastructure sector, and we are on the lookout for an experienced and dedicated Signalling Manager to join our team on the game-changing Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2 Project. This transformative project is revolutionising the transport and logistics landscape by enhancing the national freight network, and you could play a key role in its success.
As a Signalling Manager, you'll face a variety of challenges that will draw upon your expertise and develop your career further. Your role will directly influence the project’s objectives, creating better connections between communities and improving the flow of goods between major urban hubs. You will be responsible for the flawless execution of signalling systems, contributing to John Holland’s reputation for excellence in delivering complex infrastructure projects.
Project Description
Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along approximately 305 kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is staged in two tranches. Tranche 1 includes enhancement works across four sites and corridor wide works.
Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla.
The role is primarily based out of our main office in Docklands. However, it also will involve travel to various construction sites to ensure that project deliverables are achieved.
Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;
- Manage the entire signalling scope, from design to commissioning, ensuring alignment with project specifications and design directives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate signalling systems with CSR, civil, track, and electrical works.
- Engage and manage discipline relevant Sub-Contractors.
- Engage with stakeholders, including technology suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure seamless delivery of signalling components.
- Uphold safety and quality standards, adhering to John Holland's policies and relevant regulations.
- Monitor project progress to deliver signalling works on schedule and within budget.
- Lead and mentor a signalling team, fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, and technical excellence.
To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field, with a specialisation in railway signalling.
- Extensive experience in signalling within the rail sector, with a track record in delivering large-scale, complex projects.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive performance and manage teams effectively.
- Proficient in project management tools and techniques, with a keen eye for detail in planning, scheduling, and cost management.
- Exceptional communication and people skills, capable of building relationships and managing stakeholder expectations.
- An unwavering commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- The ability to problem-solve and make decisions swiftly and effectively.
- Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic nature of project work, with a willingness to tackle the unique challenges of the rail environment.
- A current driver's license and the ability to work across various locations as required by the project.
