About the Project and the Role:
John Holland has been leading the Level Crossing Removal Program of works in Melbourne since 2017 as part of the North Western Program Alliance (NWPA). We've just been awarded a $560 million contract to build the new Melton Station and remove the level crossings at Coburns and Exford roads.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Traffic Engineer to join the team.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Ensure the implementation of traffic management works is carried out within specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards.
- Undertake minor adjustments on site and monitor recommended changes to the traffic management plans.
- Reporting on traffic engineering performance, compliance, defects and non-conformance.
- Implement and communicate effective risk controls and actions throughout project delivery.
- Ensure the safety of the engineers, workforce and community with the use of appropriate Traffic management plans and control devices during construction activities.
- Managing risks and engage with project teams to ensure adequate planning and approvals.
What we are looking for:
- Degree qualified Civil Engineer with at least 5 years post graduate experience and experience in Traffic Engineering.
- Quality Assurance experience gained within the construction, transport or related industries.
- Strong people management skills to be able to manage work and performance of teams and subcontractors.
- Demonstrate financial acumen, including cost reduction strategies and successful budget management.
- Possess strong negotiation skills, enabling successful resolution of traffic management-related issues.
