Primary purpose of this position


This role is responsible for the application and delivery of social procurement strategy on projects and provide support to the delivery of client social inclusion and procurement obligations, facilitating Indigenous cultural awareness training and assisting in social inclusion.

Key accountabilities

  • Manage and implement the social procurement strategy for the project in accordance with the contract and broader John Holland strategy
  • Support sustainability initiatives, of ISCA or Greenstar, where social procurement requirements apply
  • Understand major project skills guarantee and social procurement requirements and provide assistance to the regional tenders to support with competitively positioning the business to win new work and offerings
  • Assist to implement initiatives that will support the project to meet their targets
  • Build relationships with suppliers and organisations that can support our social inclusion procurement requirements
  • Build project team capability relevant to social inclusion and procurement through training and job relevant information
  • Facilitate cultural awareness and training relevant to achieving social procurement strategy to JHG employees and sub-contractors
  • Co-ordinate events and celebrations of cultural significance including NAIDOC week and National Reconciliation Week.
  • Responsible for providing an up to date diversity and inclusion calendar and implementing relevant initiatives
  • Assist in tenders and bids regarding the social inclusion and procurement KPI’s and requirements
  • Write tender and bid responses, ensuring they are completed on time
  • Collaborate with the broader social inclusion and diversity community to share learnings and information
  • Assist in the delivery of John Holland’s social procurement strategy
  • Responsible for monthly KPI reporting from projects to region
  • Responsible for implementing diversity and inclusion programs on project.
  • Assist with implementing broader diversity and inclusion programs within John Holland as required
  • Assist with the graduate program and any other corporate program targeting diversity and social inclusion
  • Take accountability for own development, including, where appropriate, keeping up to date professionally regarding relevant practices. Demonstrate a personal commitment to the HSEQ foundations and culture
  • Demonstrate on a daily basis, personal behaviours that uphold John Holland values
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of site/project teams through productive personal behaviour
