About the Role

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing the climate change strategy and supporting the development and implementation of sustainability and climate change projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Group HSES team working across our iconic projects and various parts of the business for a 9 month parental leave contract.


Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee programs of work related to strategic sustainability and climate change strategy.
  • To manage input, suggestions, and improvement to the Sustainability Management System as they relate to strategic sustainability and climate change as required.
  • Support the governance requirements for Climate change and Sustainability and implementation across the business.
  • Track sustainability and climate change performance and analyse for trends. 
  • Prepare reports relating to climate change and sustainability including preparation of annual sustainability reports. 
  • Provide technical advice for JH operations as it relates to strategic Sustainability and climate change. 
  • Research and interpret standards, legislation, codes of practice and rating tools to inform strategic Sustainability and climate change systems and processes. 
  • Develop partnering relationships across the organisation, in order to embed the sustainability and climate strategy.
  • Oversee and support the implementation of ISO26000 and ISO20400 into JH IMS.  
  • Providing Corporate HSES information for Tenders. 
  • Support BUs and Projects with the implementation of Sustainability and climate change initiatives by developing awareness presentations and supporting documentation.
  • Support the delivery of HSESW strategy/business plan initiatives.

 

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, Engineering or Environment or other associated disciplines. Qualifications relating to climate science or carbon management would be desirable.
  • Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional (ISAP).
  • Green Star Accredited Professional (GSAP).
  • Understanding of sustainability principles, rating schemes and standards including ISO20400 and ISO26000.
  • Environmental /Sustainability Specialist within Construction or Engineering with a mix of project and corporate experience. 
  • Experience in managing greenhouse gas inventories as well as development of reduction strategies
  • Previous project management skills to successfully co-ordinate the development and delivery of programs of work. 
  • Ability to write and review procedures, management plans and other key management system documents. 
  • Ability to facilitate training and focus/working groups relating to complex operational risks, legislative requirements, management standards and other initiatives related to change management.
