We are currently looking for an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to join us, supporting all projects.

About the Role

Whilst you’ll be initially based on the North Western Program Alliance, this is a long-term career opportunity within John Holland.

 

As a Temporary Works Coordinator you will be responsible for the coordination of the Temporary Works Design delivery during the Construction Phase of the Project and on-site construction engineering activities, to achieve project time and budget objectives.

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Plan and control the delivery of Temporary Works Design to ensure the achievement of quality, completion and project objectives;
  • Coordinate and liaise with respective construction teams to develop Temporary Works Design solutions to facilitate the construction of the Permanent Works
  • Actively participate in developing cost optimised and construct able Temporary Works solutions;
  • Manage the design approval process by coordinating issue resolution;
  • Ensure compliance of Temporary Works with safety requirements
  • Management of temporary works package register, drawings and package numbers, revision control
  • Provide inputs for management of cost codes, accruals, and forecasting of temporary works cost codes
  • Manage Temporary Works design consultants allocated to the project to ensure that their progress meets the requirements;
  • Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes
  • Validation of temporary works conducted on site.
  • Analyse and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance reporting
  • Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes

To be successful in this key role, you will have;

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ engineering experience
  • Experience working on $10M+ Projects preferred
  • Project Engineer and operational experience
  • A strong understanding of structural and/or geotechnical engineering
  • Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specification, standards and implications for project accountabilities
  • Understanding of the Project Design Management Plan, Quality Management Plan. Safety Management Plan and Environmental Management Plan
  • Experience in managing design activities to program and budget specifications
  • Pre-contracts knowledge in relation to design, planning and legislative requirements
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
