About the Role / Are you up for the challenge?
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Traffic Supervisor – North to join our Beveridge to Albury Project. The Traffic Supervisor will oversee traffic management operations across four northern sites: Seymour, Tallarook, Euroa, and Benalla.
This role involves managing traffic operations across multiple sites, ensuring the safety of workers, road users, and the public while maintaining the efficiency of site activities. You will work closely with the project teams to coordinate traffic management plans and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Project Description
Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along approximately 305 kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is staged in two tranches. Tranche 1 includes enhancement works across four sites and corridor wide works.
Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla.
Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;
Overall responsibility for the role on this high-profile major project includes:
- Oversee and implement traffic management systems across the Seymour, Tallarook, Euroa, and Benalla sites.
- Supervise traffic controllers and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to approved traffic management plans.
- Perform regular site inspections to monitor traffic flow, identify risks, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Liaise with local councils, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders to secure permits and approvals for traffic management activities.
- Manage and resolve traffic-related issues promptly to minimise disruptions and maintain site productivity.
- Maintain accurate records of traffic management activities, including incident reports and compliance documentation.
- Drive a safety-first culture by upholding John Holland’s safety standards and proactively mitigating risks.
To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;
- Proven experience in traffic management, preferably in a supervisory capacity within the construction or infrastructure industry.
- Current Traffic Controller and Traffic Management Implementation (TMI) accreditation.
- Strong knowledge of traffic management regulations, codes of practice, and relevant Australian Standards.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
- A commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of traffic management.
- A valid driver’s licence and White Card (Construction Induction).
- Willingness to travel regularly between the Seymour, Tallarook, Euroa, and Benalla sites.
