About you and the role
John Holland has been leading the Level Crossing Removal Project in Melbourne since 2017 as part of the North Western Program Alliance (NWPA). We've just been awarded a $560 million contract to build the new Melton Station and remove the level crossings at Coburns and Exford roads. We are currently looking for a Traffic Supervisor with experience in rail to join the project team.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Run pre-starts and manage traffic management subcontractors.
- Lead and drive a positive HSE and risk management culture throughout the project.
- Coordinate and manage the implementation of traffic signs and devices.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, keeping key personnel informed throughout the project.
- Complete progress reporting, and activities, reports for shift handovers and consistent regular reporting to the Superintendent or Project Manager.
- Maintain effective consultation with various workers’ representatives and committees on industrial and safety subjects and handling issues as they arise.
What we are looking for:
- Experienced Traffic Supervisors previously worked in a rail environment.
- Hold trade qualifications and RIW card.
- V-Line inducted is preferred but not essential.
- Able to review design documents, understand drawings, provide constructability review and implement final design plans.
- Strong people skills with the ability to manage subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour.
- Ability to adapt and work within a dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to work across other NWPA sites from time to time.
