About the project:

A 30 ML/d seawater desalination plant will be delivered at Belmont South NSW, to provide weather independent supply to the community in the lower Hunter region.

 

Seen as one of the largest capital projects in the water sector in Hunter region, the community is expecting a sustainable outcome for the nature of a seawater desalination plant. It is also the first project in Hunter Water pursuing an IS Rating, as part of its Carbon Neutral Strategy by 2035.

About the role:

We are looking for a highly driven Quality Advisor for the Belmont Desal Project in Newcastle, NSW. This is a great opportunity for a Quality Advisor looking to diversify their skillset.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Review Quality lot records for project conformance and specification compliance
  • Monitor Quality registers for progressive status of the works
  • Assist engineers in managing quality documentation from supplier and subcontractors and subsequent worklot close out
  • Conduct internal audits on functional areas and onsite work process surveillance inspections
  • Prepare audit reports summarising production and quality issues together with recommend corrective actions.
  • Under direction, review, recommend and assist in implementing inspection and test plans and process control procedures to ensure that products meet specifications and standards.
  • Document Quality issues and performance measures for management review
  • Assist with implementation of the Non-Conformance trend analysis process and develop Quality Alerts as required
  • Provide technical advice and assistance on the management of Quality-related activities
  • Understand compliance and reporting procedures and processes
  • Monitor and communicate Quality standards on the project
  • Administer the relevant systems used for monitoring and documenting Quality issues and actions

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.  
  • Experience in implementing project QA management systems.
  • Be able to work independently and have strong problem solving skills.
  • Experience in use of software applications especially for lots, testing (soil, concrete and survey, calibrations), NCRs and defects management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
