About the project:

A 30 ML/d seawater desalination plant will be delivered at Belmont South NSW, to provide weather independent supply to the community in the lower Hunter region.

 

Seen as one of the largest capital projects in the water sector in Hunter region, the community is expecting a sustainable outcome for the nature of a seawater desalination plant. It is also the first project in Hunter Water pursuing an IS Rating, as part of its Carbon Neutral Strategy by 2035.

About the role:

The Belmont Desal project team are currently looking for multiple Site Engineers across the following disciplines:

 

  • Marine work (FRP)
  • Tunnelling/Intake works
  • Building/Structural

 

This is an iconic Infrastructure project for the Hunter region and the largest project Hunter Water have delivered. The role will be based full time in Belmont South, approximately 30 minutes from Newcastle CBD.

Reporting into the Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible to coordinate on-site construction engineering activities to achieve project time and budget objectives.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Work closely with the Projects Engineering and Supervisory team to ensure timely delivery of programme requirements from a cost and time perspective
  • Significant input in managing project Quality Systems with respect to inspections, checklists, documentation, and record keeping
  • Planning & programming
  • Assist with procurement & supplier management
  • Ensure compliance of the works undertaken in relation to technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards with a focus on risk management.

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

  • Degree qualified Civil Engineer with at least 2 years post graduate experience.
  • Understanding contemporary practices in construction methodology on civil infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience in working on Tier 1 Civil Infrastructure Projects. 
  • Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate with different stakeholders. 
  • A team player with the ability to deliver on tight deadlines.
