Sustainability Advisor - NWPA

North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) consists of four partners, working as ‘one team’. NWPA has a proven track record, having completed three level crossing removal projects, a Premium station rebuild and two projects currently in delivery phase.


Your new role will be located at our main project office in North Melbourne, very close to Macaulay Station. You will be employed by John Holland – the constructor partner of the Alliance.

 


We are currently looking for Sustainability Advisor to join our team working on the level crossing removal project, located in the North West.


As Sustainability advisor you will coordinate the project sustainability requirements by ensuring that the project achieves sustainable outcomes that are of value to our customers and meets contractual obligations.

 


Responsibilities of the role include;
­Drive a culture of contemporary thinking across the Project to help achieve the environmental, social, financial and governance goals of our customers and communities
­Support delivery of the project specific sustainability goals and ensures that actions, procedures and tools are in place to provide surety of successful project delivery, which is in compliance with the project sustainability management plan and the project's contractual obligations
­Provide technical direction to design, construction, commercial, operational and other key project teams in relation to sustainability requirements 
­Support the maintenance of strong relationships through collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders
­Attend and drive sustainable outcomes during design and construction, procurement and other functional led meetings
­Develop and deliver sustainability training programs for relevant project personnel and contractors, and support sustainability management tools training
­Accelerate learning and development of the project team through coaching, sharing knowledge and mentoring 
­Compile and review sustainability rating tool submissions
­Continually monitor, measure and evaluate the project’s sustainability performance and improve project practices and the Sustainability Management Plan, policies and processes and procedures, to gain optimal outcomes on the project 
­Report against the project sustainability objectives on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to management, senior management and the client.

 


To be successful in this key role, you must have;
-Bachelor of Engineering, Science, Sustainability or other associated disciplines
­Sound understanding of sustainability principles and application within the construction industry
­Construction experience (3-5 years)
­Understanding of sustainability rating schemes and standards
­Proficient at measuring, analysing and communicating sustainability performance
-Ability to facilitate training and workshops on sustainability principles, requirements and actions.
