About the Role

We are currently looking for a People Coordinator – Early Careers to join our Rail People team.  Reporting into the People Manager – Rail, this role will be accountable for coordinating and managing the Graduate, Trainee, Intern and Apprenticeship programs across the national Rail Business Group.  There is opportunity for this role to be based out of Melbourne or Sydney.

Responsibilities of the role include (but are by no means limited to);

  • Support program participants and line managers to ensure progression through their learning objectives and ensure that experience objectives are being met
  • Lead the annual Rail Graduate recruitment and selection process for Australia and New Zealand
  • Coordination and management of Graduate rotations across the Rail business unit in Australia and New Zealand
  • Represent the Rail business in all company wide Graduate activities and initiatives
  • Manage the Rail traineeship, intern and apprenticeship programs including onboarding, coordinating rotations and ensuring learning requirements are met
  • Coordination of national redeployment activities including uploading Resumes and Redeployment forms to the appropriate SharePoint folder and updating the National Resourcing Tracker
  • Generate reports as required from various databases which may include information on absenteeism, annual leave, training, licences, qualifications, and performance management data

To be successful in this key role, you must have;

  • A positive attitude and desire to be part of a team who is committed to delivering high end outcomes
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a People/HR Coordinator role or similar. Experience in coordination of graduate, trainee or apprenticeship programs is desirable.
  • Strong coordination and organisational skills
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Construction or Engineering Industry experience is desirable
