About the Role 

 

 

Currently there are vacancies in our Rail WA Plant Team for Plant Mechanics to provide specialised mechanical services working on a variety of heavy, mid range & small plant and equipment.  Previous experience working on Flashbutt Welders, Ballast Regulators, Plasser Tampers and other rail specific plant is preferred but not essential.   These newly created roles will provide field service and workshop support for John Holland’s rail projects located in the Perth Greater Metro and Pilbara. 

 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

 

  • Maintain various items of Rail resurfacing Equipment, mid range & small plant and earthmoving equipment  
  • Carry out services, schedule maintenance and repairs  
  • Machine fault diagnosis and troubleshooting 
  • Provide technical support to maintenance teams 
  • Work off technical drawings, electrical & hydraulic schematics. 
  • Required Qualifications and Experience: 
  • Cert 3 in Heavy Plant Mechanic or Mechanical Trade certificate/s or equivalent. 
  • Current Construction Industry Induction card (White/Blue) 
  • Valid C-class drivers licence (MR/HR Truck Licence Preferred) 

 

 

Advantageous: 

 

Proven and demonstrated experience maintaining Ballast Regulators and Rail Tamping Machines & Flashbutt Welders highly desirable.  

 

 

  • High Risk Licences – Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Rigging or Crane, C6 non slew crane 
  • HR Truck Drivers Licence 
  • Current Rail Industry Worker card 
  • Previous boilermaker experience preferred but not essential
