An opportunity has become available for an experienced Procurement and Logistics Manager to join the Rail WA team in Canning Vale.  Occasional travel to site will be required.

Responsibilities of the role include (but are by no means limited to);

  • Formulate, develop and implement purchasing strategies with the objective of meeting business requirements for assurance of supply, quality, service, cost, innovation and regulatory compliance
  • Align procurement strategies with those for the customer site/commercial business and relevant sourcing groups
  • Consult with internal customers to lead the procurement process in line with business needs
  • Maintain and establish documentation and quality specifications at suppliers’ premises
  • Manage relationships and ways of working with key suppliers to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of goods/services that meet business requirements
  • Improve systems and processes to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness or service for company and customers
  • Develop and implement procurement policies where required in conjunction with site functions
  • Develop contracts appropriate to categories of expenditure
  • Review supply contracts where applicable
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions
  • Provide input to annual budget cycle
  • Manage site procurement operational expenditure to plan
  • Supervise contracts on receipt and acknowledgement of material and supplies
  • Maintain purchasing records

 To be successful in this key role, you must have;

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in associated discipline
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a commercial procurement role
  • Experience in Rail Signalling Procurement
  • Advanced understanding in procedures for project administration, general business administration and project management
  • Reporting and compliance with respect to internal procedures, client procedures and legislation
  • Understand scope of works for the project, and ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Skill in risk assessment and mitigation. Development of risk control in delivery and establishment of projects.
