About the Role / Are you up for the challenge?
Join our team as a Safety Advisor on an exciting Communications project based in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
As a Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our projects are executed in a safe and compliant manner, while working in a rail environment.
This role is supporting a Pilbara based project and therefore will be engaged on a FIFO arrangement with a roster of 14 days on and 7 days off, with a point of hire of Perth.
Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;
- Providing operational support and leadership to the project management team in understanding and taking responsibility for safety within the workplace.
- Supporting operational leadership in monitoring compliance with safety systems and procedures
- Implementing Health and Wellbeing campaigns and initiatives.
- Conducting incident and accident investigations that may require litigation, as well as routine safety inspections and monitoring work areas
- Establishing positive working relationships with project personnel and raising awareness of safety risks
- Assisting with the development of safety policies specific to the project and administering safety programs for project employees
- Maintaining knowledge of applicable legislative requirements, government regulations, standards and policies
- Evaluating, investigating and gathering information that will address inadequacies concerning safety matters
- Reviewing specific high-risk planned works to be undertaken to ensure compliance with the method of work
- Ordering appropriate stocks of PPE as directed and supporting the communication of SQE requirements to the project
To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;
- A Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent
- Experience in conducting and interpreting audit reviews and knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls
- Experience monitoring, reviewing and reporting on performance, compliance, and defects
- Skills in safety management techniques and tools
