About the Project
John Holland is progressing the development of Stage 1A of the multi-stage Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal project, a pivotal development set to transform the logistics landscape in Victoria, Australia. This initial phase marks the beginning of a journey towards creating a state-of-the-art facility that will streamline the movement of goods across the nation and beyond.
Strategically located to harness the full potential of its proximity to key transport links, Beveridge is poised to deliver unparalleled efficiencies in the distribution of freight. With the latest advancements in logistics technology at its core, Stage 1A lays the groundwork for a hub of innovation, ensuring that cargo is moved with unprecedented speed and precision.

As the project progresses, each subsequent stage will build upon the last, culminating in a world-class intermodal freight terminal that will serve as a cornerstone for Australia's future in global trade.
About the Role
The primary purpose of the role is to process and administer creditor payments the Accounts Payable Ledger for the project through accurate processing, verifying and reconciling of invoices ensuring compliance to John Holland policies and statutory requirement such as those set by the ATO.
Ensuring a strong customer focus in assisting and responding to internal and external vendor queries.
Responsibilities of the role include
- Review, sort and prepare invoices for processing and payment, including validation that the invoice details are in line ATO requirements
- Prepare and process electronic transfer payments (EFTs) to creditors and distribute remittance advices
- Raise cheques and distribute to ensure timely receipt by creditors and suppliers
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and review outstanding balances
- Reconcile all assigned vendor accounts to statements and resolving disputes in a timely manner
- Ensure that cash flow forecasts are prepared in a timely manner and monitor variances to budget
- Prepare, review and disseminate month-end reports to appropriate personnel
- Prepare month-end allocations and accruals
- Provide guidance to all staff on accounts payable procedures, ensure that GST requirements are correctly accounted for on all invoices and payment requests
- Maintain/update supplier details as and when required through submission of vendor master change form, ensuring vendor details remain current
- Address and respond to internal and external vendor enquiries and follow up any outstanding items with the responsible personnel
- Ensure records are filed and archived
- Provide general administrative support as and when required
- Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures
To be successful in this role we are looking for
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Business or associated disciplines
- Construction Management qualification or equivalent CA/CPA
- Post graduate qualification in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Business or associated discipline
Experience
- 5 -10 years’ of relevant commercial experience in the construction and engineering industry
- Contractual management of a variety of project values and complexities
- Negotiation of contractual terms, variations and progress claims
- Demonstrated application of Corporate Limits of Liabilities and contractual and commercial systems, processes and procedures
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in relevant software packages such as Microsoft Suite (including Excel) and exposure to a contract management system (CRM)
- 2-5 years’ experience working as a Contracts Manager in the construction and engineering industry
- Contractual management of design providers
