About the Project
John Holland is progressing the development of Stage 1A of the multi-stage Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal project (BIP), a pivotal development set to transform the logistics landscape in Victoria, Australia.
This initial phase marks the beginning of a journey towards creating a state-of-the-art facility that will streamline the movement of goods across the nation and beyond.
Strategically located to harness the full potential of its proximity to key transport links, it is poised to deliver unparalleled efficiencies in the distribution of freight. With the latest advancements in logistics technology at its core, Stage 1A lays the groundwork for a hub of innovation, ensuring that cargo is moved with unprecedented speed and precision.

About the Role / Are you up for the challenge?
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to join the team delivering the Beveridge Intermodal Project. This role will support the project’s commercial and finance functions through the accurate and timely processing of supplier and subcontractor invoices, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, company procedures and statutory requirements.
Working closely with the commercial, procurement and project teams, you will manage end‑to‑end accounts payable activities including invoice matching, payment runs, vendor queries and reconciliation. You will play a key role in maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, supporting cashflow management and contributing to the smooth financial operation of this major infrastructure project.

Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;

Review, sort and prepare invoices for processing and payment, ensuring all invoice details comply with ATO requirements.

Prepare and process electronic funds transfer (EFT) payments to creditors and distribute remittance advices.

Raise cheques where required and ensure timely distribution to creditors and suppliers.

Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and review outstanding balances.

Reconcile assigned vendor accounts to supplier statements and resolve discrepancies and disputes in a timely manner.

Ensure cash flow forecasts are prepared in a timely manner and monitor variances against budget.

Prepare, review and distribute month‑end reports to relevant stakeholders.

Prepare month‑end allocations and accruals in line with reporting requirements.

Provide guidance to staff on accounts payable procedures and ensure GST is correctly accounted for on all invoices and payment requests.

Maintain and update supplier details as required through submission of vendor master change forms, ensuring all records remain accurate and current.

Address and respond to internal and external supplier enquiries and follow up outstanding items with responsible personnel.

Ensure all records are appropriately filed and archived in accordance with company requirements.

Provide general administrative support as required.

To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;
Qualifications
Essential
- Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent.
Desirable
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- CA or CPA certification.
Experience and Skills
Essential
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Accounts Payable role.
Desirable
- Experience administering relevant accounting systems used within a project or corporate environment.
- Corporate or site‑based experience within the construction, transport or related industries.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively liaise with internal and external parties.
- Highly developed attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
