About the Project
John Holland is progressing the development of Stage 1A of the multi-stage Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal project, a pivotal development set to transform the logistics landscape in Victoria, Australia. This initial phase marks the beginning of a journey towards creating a state-of-the-art facility that will streamline the movement of goods across the nation and beyond.
Strategically located to harness the full potential of its proximity to key transport links, Beveridge is poised to deliver unparalleled efficiencies in the distribution of freight. With the latest advancements in logistics technology at its core, Stage 1A lays the groundwork for a hub of innovation, ensuring that cargo is moved with unprecedented speed and precision.

As the project progresses, each subsequent stage will build upon the last, culminating in a world-class intermodal freight terminal that will serve as a cornerstone for Australia's future in global trade.
About the Role
Assist with the onsite engineering services and technical support in the planning, support and reporting to ensure short term planning and programming of works is completed in conjunction with the site supervision staff.
Responsibilities of the role include
- Deliver a scope of work in accordance with planned activities, project plans, or specifications.
- Ensure that controls required by the SEP, TRA, and ITP are ready to implement.
- Use established procedures to gather and correlate basic data and perform detailed or routine engineering duties.
- Apply effective problem‑solving techniques and skills, particularly in relation to delivering outcomes.
- Read and understand plans and review design documentation to provide constructability reviews and implement final plans.
- Carry out drone flights to collect survey data, where required.Upload drone data and integrate it into relevant systems for analysis and tracking.
- Track earthworks progress against the program schedule.Monitor CSR progress against program milestones.
- Track rail progress against the project timeline.Track civils progress to ensure alignment with the planned schedule.
- Track and maintain accurate as‑built data.
- Procure materials and services that comply with specifications, drawings, and environmental standards.Identify, report, investigate, and resolve all non‑conformances, and implement corrective and preventative measures.
- Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, and procedures.
- Check designs to ensure models are workable and located within the correct space and coordinate system.
- Manage IFC data and ensure survey teams are updated with the latest IFC revisions at all times.
- Upload IFC data to Civillo and Propeller platforms for project‑wide access and integration.
- Use AutoCAD to draft temporary works models and designs as required.
- Manage site and survey requests to address project needs effectively.
- Perform GPS surveys on site when required.
- Conduct instrument surveys on site as required.
- Manage and maintain the project
- Control Network to ensure survey accuracy and consistency.
To be successful in this role we are looking for
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management
- Qualifications and training relevant to the Region, Business Unit or project
- Drivers Licence
- Further education for future career path, e.g. recognition of prior learning
Experience
- Technical competency, understanding, experience or commitment to the area that wish to work in, e.g. construction experience
- Relevant work experience in area of expertise as per University/course requirements, e.g. 90-120 days for Engineering
- Work towards professional experience
