About the Project:

 

John Holland is progressing the development of Stage 1A of the multi-stage Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal (BIFT) project, a pivotal development set to transform the logistics landscape in Victoria, Australia. This initial phase marks the beginning of a journey towards creating a state-of-the-art facility that will streamline the movement of goods across the nation and beyond.

About the Role / Are you up for the challenge?

 

We at John Holland are in pursuit of a dynamic Project Manager to lead Stage 1A of the Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal (BIFT) project, a pivotal enterprise set to revolutionise the logistical framework within Victoria and across Australia. This role calls for a leader who can steer the project with strategic vision, integrating cutting-edge logistics technology, and ensuring adherence to our deep-rooted commitment to sustainability. Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;

 

  • Oversee the successful delivery of Stage 1A of the BIFT project, managing all facets of construction and operation to meet or exceed project milestones.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and liaise with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Develop project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resources, ensuring they align with John Holland's strategic objectives and project requirements.
  • Implement robust project governance and risk management frameworks to identify and mitigate potential project risks.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, maintaining the highest levels of health, safety, and environmental management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainability within the project team and broader organisation.
  • Provide regular project updates to senior management and stakeholders, including progress reports, budget forecasting, and risk assessments.
  • Navigate the complexities of a large-scale infrastructure project with a focus on delivering outcomes that contribute to the long-term success of the BIFT development.
     

To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;

 

  • A tertiary degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications in Project Management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) are highly regarded.
  • Extensive experience in project management roles within the construction, infrastructure, or logistics industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver outstanding project outcomes.
  • A strategic thinker with a proven track record in delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage expectations and build lasting relationships.
  • A detailed understanding of health and safety legislation, environmental policies, and the importance of sustainable practices in project delivery.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and adapt to the changing needs of the project.
